What is better? Computer Science or Civil Engineering?
Ali K asked:
I am in B.Eng Electrical Engineering in Canada and after poor academic performance in electrical circuits courses and not being able to clear all of my electrical related courses, I have decided to switch either in Computer Science or in Civil Engineering.
Obviously I want to go into something which is easier (in terms of complexity and difficulty) but at the same time would provide me with good work opportunites in Canada or in Pakistan.
I myself don’t mind doing either of the degree programs, just want to know what the rest think. Please note that my priority is to switch into a program much easier than Electrical Engineering.

Switching field to electrical engineering?
hbstarz614 asked:
I have a BS in health science and went to medical school after for one semester and felt it wasn’t for me at all… so I withdrew. I plan on pursuing engineering (most likely electrical) because it was my initial interest before I got into health care. Is it possible for me to do MS in EE? I have taken some math (calculus 1,2,3, stats), a C programming class, and physics (1 and 2) courses. I feel that getting a second bachelors is pointless and a waste of time, hence I want to avoid getting a BS in engineering. What should I do?

Supplement to Biomedical Engineering?
dreken105 asked:
I am a senior in high school at the moment and have started applying to various colleges. My intended major is Biomedical Engineering because i want to do research and be an innovator is prosthesis. I also intend to double major (another engineering course) but what major would best match me ambitions? Mechanical Engineering is related because of the obvious mechanics involved in prosthesis. Materials Engineering would relate because the body needs to be able to accept the new body part. Computer Engineering would correlate because the prosthetic would need a controller to interpret the body’s message. Electrical Engineering is similar in that it would relate to the neural engineering. and finally Chemical Engineering would correlate much like Materials Engineering. So? What am i supposed to do. Also would a minor in business or maybe even a MBA help if i intend to eventually start my own firm?

Which specific area in Electrical Engineering has a bright future?
Noojies asked:
I’m currently rising Junior studying electrical engineering (BS).
I’m at the point where I should be thinking about specialization for technical elective courses and having trouble deciding one.
I have some areas that I’m interested in such as computer, controls and systems, robotics and power. I know that’s quite a list. I just don’t have that one area that I’m loving at this point. So I need some of you guys advice.
Which area is on the rise?
What are some pros and cons for each areas?
How’s the job market for specific area?
Is it necessary to decide one before I go into industry?
or some suggestions based on your work experience?
Thank you, guys.

I Need Course Suggestions?
MikeB asked:
I am a junior chemical engineering student who is looking to go into the process control engineering field. I am doing my senior project in this topic as well. I was wondering what engineering electives to take to complement my career interests.
My options are:
An electrical engineering course (I already have an intro to EE course)
A mechanics course (statics, dynamics)
Or something else outside my major.
Also, I was wondering if I should substitute the senior Unit Operations Lab course for one of the courses I mentioned above and take two electives outside my major instead of one.
