what is electrical engineering all about?
thirteen asked:
what are you studying all about? what are your minor and major subjects? is there any important thing i need to know first before i choose to study electrical engineering? what’s the field of study all about? what should an electrical engineering student possess? should i have knowledge about what? is it true that only people who are smart could study engineering?,..i’m not smart.. but i’m studying hard…. i just want to make things clear… ’cause if i will take up BSEE,.. i know many people would think that why am i taking that course, and in fact i’m not smart and i’m introvert… i need an advice…

well, im a ME but the first 2 years of school is the same, a ton of math, physics, and some structual stuff, then it breaks apart into the EE stuff, Its heavy in math and Calc.
Hope that helps. Thats the way it is a Purdue
As for being smart, I will put it this way, when i started my class had over 120 people in it, im in my last semester, there are 12 people left that i started with
I am studying EE with a focus on Electro-Mechanical Engineering. Most of my time is studying electrical theory right now, but I’m first year. It helps that my job works with the study material.
My dad is an eletrical engineer. He designs lasers. The job availabilty for engineers is extremely high right now and the pay is great.
You should have the basics in Calculus. The rest you’ll learn in college. As long as you push yourself hard and stay devoted, you don’t have to be a genius to do well in engineering.
Remember, if you don’t understand something in class, don’t be afraid to go and ask for help after class.
A lot of Electrical Engineers design circuit boards, using logic and trial and error to make it work. Before it’s built, you need to make sure it works by using computer programs and other equipment.
Read the article from the link below. It should answer most of your questions.
I am a EET major, and it is hard.I have had math though to calc 2.Now I am in engineering physics ,which is harder than regular physics.I also will be required to take physics 2.You will need to learn Boolean algebra, and a whole lot of trig for circuit math.I was in the gifted program all through remedial school ,and I am barely making it.If you do not already excel in math do not do it!
Electrical engineering is an engineering discipline that deals with the study and application of electricity and electromagnetism. Its practitioners are called electrical engineers. Electrical engineering is a broad field that encompasses many subfields including those that deal with power, control systems, electronics and telecommunications.
